Where were you?

I still cannot believe it has been ten years.
I can vividly recall September 11, 2001.  I was a senior in college at Concordia University, and had just begun my Student Teaching Practicum.  Although I was not yet in my placement, I was attending morning classes to prepare for my internship.  As I walk down the corridor, through Addison Hall, I watched as professors and students were sobbing as they gaze in astonishment at the hallway tv.
I had not turned on television that morning, and was not aware of what had gone on.

I will never forget the sense of community and togetherness that swept over CU on that day.  Now, ten years later, I am married to a firefighter.  As Louie left for work this morning, he got an extra hug from us, as well as the regular request of "please be safe".  Today... "safe" meant something more.
